The iPad comes equipped with Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR technology. Although it is still a little unclear how much of the Bluetooth connectivity will be opened up to other accessories, it seems that it has been confirmed that the iPad does indeed support the Apple Bluetooth keyboard, but what other iPad Bluetooth accessories could be coming out?
The question is, and is how many other iPad accessories will become available if the Bluetooth connectivity is fully available for App developers? The iPad’s lack of a camera for Skype and similar chat applications means that many people may want to connect up a Bluetooth camera if the option is there. There are also things like Bluetooth printers and mice to consider, although why anyone would want to connect up a mouse with the beautiful Multi-Touch screen is a mystery.
Then of course there is the fact that the iPad comes in several flavors, and one of those includes the option to whack a 3G SIM card in there. With this in mind, people will be hunting down the best Bluetooth headsets, so at least enable them to make use of VOIP applications to make free calls.
